Conference Lodging
There are several excellent new lodging facilities near the Lea County Event Center, the closest being the Country Inn &Suites (5220 No. Lovington Highway, Ph. 575 391-0282, mention the “History Conference” to get the best available rate),
the Hampton Inn & Suites (5420 No. Lovington Highway, Ph. 575 492-6000), the Lea County Inn (5412 No. Lovington Highway, Ph. 575 392-2003) and the Brentwood Inn & Suites (5020 No. Lovington Highway, Ph. 575 392-2161). Also very close are the Sleep Inn & Suites, Comfort Inn-North , Comfort Suites, Holiday Inn Express, Fairfield Inn & Suites, and La Quinta Inn & Suites. A number of other lodging facilities are located a few miles away. Early reservations are encouraged as Hobbs is a busy place and hotels fill up early

Lea County Museum (15 miles up the highway from the Event Center) The 1918 two-story hotel is the main building, but many other structures: dugout home, 1909 home, 1918 home, one-room school, old mercantile, 1929 store on town square, 1931 two-story store on town square, 1918 home and much more.
